We recently moved our 2 doctor Internal Medicine practice literally across the street.  It was an expensive move, but we thought it would help us and would help the economy if we moved.  The local economy would be helped by the new construction with the work and employment this would bring as well as the bank lending money.  This has turned into the biggest nightmare you can imagine.  When we moved, Medicare stopped all of our payments due to the change of address (we did not even change zip codes!)  It has been 8 weeks without payments now.  We have 5015 patients that we are responsible for as well as 10 employees and we are on the verge of bankcruptcy. We cannot pay our bills if Medicare does not pay us what is rightfully ours. Everytime we call them, a different person tells us that we need this form filled out and a copy of our phone bill proving that we moved. (why would we lie to medicare about moving if we really did not move?)  We even tried to avoid a disaster like this by calling them in November (we moved in January)and asking them what to do to avopid this when we moved.  We gave them everything they asked for and they still stiffed us !! We have called our congressional leaders for help and have gotten no-where.  I even tried to call Dr. Tom Price for help and the person that I spoke to in Washington was very NOT HELPFUL.  It anyone out there reading this message has any ideas or can help avoid an economic disaster to a community, please let me know via e-mail or call us.  The office number is 704 866-7171. Makes me want to vote YES for national healthcare!!
